Film Screening: “The Most Beautiful Village in the World”
2019/07/12

On July 7th, we finished the screening of the film “The Most Beautiful Village in the World”.
We would like to thank everyone who came to the screening!

“The Most Beautiful Village in the World” is a documentary film about a Nepali village struggling to recover from the damages caused by the 2015 earthquake. We hoped that the film would allow our supporters a deeper understanding of the situation in Nepal. A total of 53 people attended the screening.

<Message from our Representative Director>
Our Representative Director began by introducing CheFuKo and describing the beginning of our organization’s involvement with Nepal following the earthquake of 2015.

<Post-screening discussion>
Following the film screening, we went on to introduce our support activities in Nepal, starting with the CheFuKo Foster Project. Thank you to those who donated to the project at the end of the event!

<Message from Ramesh, our counterpart from Nepal>
Ramesh has been our partner since we began our support activities in Nepal, and he is an invaluable part of the CheFuKo extended family. He is often telling us that “Love is needed for all things”. He shared his message of love with the audience, speaking in fluent Japanese.

We also set up photographic exhibits displaying our past and current activities in Nepal.

<Fair trade products from Nepal>
The WSDO (Women’s Skills Development Organization) is a Nepali organization located in the metropolitan city of Pokhara. It strives to help empower women by connecting them with skill-based opportunities to make money. We invited supporters who donated over 500 yen to take home a fair trade product made by the women of WSDO.

■ Donations
We received a total of 53,500 yen in donations!
We handed out bags, pencil cases and pouches made by the women of WSDO to supporters who made donations. The bags we gave to those donating over 2,000 yen were particularly popular! All donations will be used to support the education of Nepali children through our CheFuKo Foster Project. Thank you for your contributions!
