The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many people to lose their jobs or work shorter hours. This has had a profound impact on single parent families.
With this in mind, we have begun support activities oriented towards helping single parents by sending them boxes of pre-packaged food items.
The emergency food kits we are sending are items we have received from our Senior Advisor and our affiliate company, Wakaten. We are working together with the non-profit organization Single Mothers Forum to distribute the food kits to single parent families in need.
The boxes contain rice, pre-cooked meals, bread, and Japanese sweets.
We received positive feedback from the single parent households, including messages that the children had been excited and happy to open the packages.
Single parent families that are looking for support can contact Single Mothers Forum from their website here.
CheFuKo will continue to expand our scope of activities so that we can support single mothers and fathers.
