Introducing Bandana from Nepal!
2020/08/25

Since 2015, CheFuKo has continued to support educational initiatives within Nepal.

Through the “CheFuKo Foster Project”, we are able to aid institutions that serve as homes to children with unequal access to education.

One of these institutions is the Rising Lotus Children’s Village (RLCV), currently housing 30 children from 14 districts around Nepal.

Today, we are proud to introduce one student who has shown remarkable growth and tenacity during her time at RLCV.

Meet Bandana Paija!

She is a 16-year old student at RLCV who has just completed her SEE, or Secondary Education Examination (the final examination taken at the end of 10th grade in Nepal).

The results of her exam… top marks in every subject! This is not the first time Bandana has achieved high scores—according to the Managing Director of RLCV, Mr. Hari, she has always placed first in her class, and sometimes even within her whole school of 1000 students.

“I feel very happy that I got good results. I am thankful to all supporters.”

Bandana has faced various difficulties at home. Growing up without her mother, it’s been her responsibility to take care of herself and her father. While she was nervous about living at RLCV at first, she has since grown into a friendly girl who looks after the younger children.

“I feel happy and quite afraid and nervous that I would have to face the real world and real exams of life.”

Having completed her Secondary Education Examination, Bandana will be moving onto the Ten Plus Two schooling that takes place after grade 10. She hopes to one day be able to continue her studies in Japan.

We look forward to finding out what Bandana will accomplish next!
