CheFuKo Dailies #2
“Introducing the Office: Part 2”
2021/02/08

It is now February, the month of Valentine’s Day and Setsubun in Japan.

This is our second installment of CheFuKo Dailies, a series of blog posts where we introduce components of our daily lives at the CheFuKo office in Ochanomizu. Last time, we shared pictures of the interior of our office. These included photographs of our past activities on the walls and a table displaying colorful merchandise from Nepal.

Today, we will be completing our introduction of the office with a description of our workspace. These are the places where we discuss new ideas and manage our daily responsibilities.

The first space we’d like to cover is our desk area. Pictured below are five desks, each with their own computer and a collection of office items. We put our desks together so that we can communicate with each other more easily and efficiently.

The three desks shown here might suggest something about each staff member’s personality. Some prefer using sticky notes while others don’t. Some like to decorate their workspace, while others prefer to keep it simple. Every member of our staff has their own unique workstyle.

Separated from our desks by a whiteboard is a large oval table we use as our conference space. Every week, we gather together around this table to reflect on the week’s events and discuss our plans for the following one.

Finally, we would like to show you the seminar room located just beside our office! This spacious room is a facility we share with Daini-Kaientai, a publishing company run by our senior advisor Takashi Asai. There are enough desks and chairs inside to accommodate 50 people, with room for more. CheFuKo has used this seminar room to host film screenings and activity report conferences. There will surely be more events to come!

This concludes our brief tour of the CheFuKo office space.

In our next installment, we are planning a basic introduction of our staff members. Until next time!
